I completely agree with Harrison on his views

I completely agree with Harrison on his views. I don't think that his thinking is altered by being a quadriplegic. I even think he should die because that would release his burden. I mean, euthanasia's a RIGHT isn't it? We shouldn't let a person living a life with no particular direction or goal when he/she doesn't want to live anymore.

  1. Even though I agree that Euthanasia should be a right, I think that Harrison was far better off than other people. he still had his consciousness, his ability to talk and to move his head. He is actually better off than Stephen Hawking, one of the greatest men of the 21st century.

  2. Hahaha. Yeah. At least he's not like Stephen Hawking. I could not believe why Hawking still chose life and research so many great things. His will is as strong as steel...

  3. I agree that Harrison was far better off than some other people, but that doesn't necessarily mean his will to live is stronger. It depends, really, on the patient's determination to live. Harrison's lost EVERYTHING so even though he's physically better off than some, emotionally, you could argue he's far worse.

  4. I agree with Emma. Harrison could have been better off, but he was a sculptor. There is no way to sculpt again only with talking and moving his head. A sculptor needs to use his arms more than other people, so he could want to die more than other people wants.

  5. I agree. There are tons of other sculptors in the world so it wouldn't be a great loss for society. I know that I sound quite mean by saying this but again, I think he should die peacefully and justly instead of living a live with no directions.

  6. Yup, I think it's fair to allow the death of Harrison because he has lost the power to even move again, and watching him lie on the hospital bed with no aim or objective in his life is indeed very useless, since all he can really do is to express his pain emotionally, his life is really over, and being a sculptor, he can't ever live his passion again, so I think he she choose whether he wants to die or not.

  7. i Dont agree with Hung, he has so much to contribute and give to the world. He is a wise man and this was shown throughout the movie. Just give him time, he is going though that time of state that no-one wants to go through, depression. He will understand. He has alot to give to the world. Let him die is not just a waste to society, but also a decline of human's right in society.

  8. Even though euthanasia looks like th only option left to him I think you should take into account of what we've heard of quadroplegics and compare that to his condition. He's in much of a better shape than most of the quads I read about in the sense that he still has his conciousness and the ability to communicate to others. Also being such a wise man as he is, i'm sure he has much to offer the world and he shouldn't just aloow himself to be deprived of his life. I believe he's more important than that...

  9. Well i think Harrison must die because he is just a human waste. This person has nothing to contribute to the society. He can't earn money or make benefits to the developmet of the country. He can't even make money for himself. He is useless. He is just lying in the hospital bed and does nothing. It doesn't matter how he thinks or how he feels. Our mental happiness or emotion means nothing against money. He is wasting money for nothing. Even though each life seems very important, there are still about 0.6 billion people in the Earth. His death doesn't make any lose or disadvantages to us, except for emotional shock because that is not considered as money. If he dies, less money will be wasted and more people who can be saved will be saved.
Also he wants to die. Let's assume I want to suicide. If I die by cutting my throat with a knife, that is not wrong. But Harrison wants to die and he is not allowed to die. Therefore this is a complete racism toward him.

This comment looks so mean and cruel.
Don' misunderstand me by this comment because
    I'm not mean.

  11. i agree with jae ho XD. euthanasia if the right to live and Harrison wants to die so why don't people just give him what he wants. They save time, money and space. He's just one person and since he wants to die they should just let him. I mean he went that far to get a LAWYER. I mean people get lawyers to try to allow them to keep on living. But he got a lawyer to help him die. If he's that desperate then they should just let him. And that Emmerson guy is evil.

  12. I do agree with Michelle, Jae Ho and Hung. Harrison has the right to die. Even though in theory, saving a patient's life is doctor's job. However, choosing whether or not to die is patient's decision and doctor should not be involved. In this case, Mr. Harrison chose to die because he was feeling useless by lying on bed for whole day. Being a sculptor having just an imaginative brain is not enough yet, therefore Mr. Harrison needs arms and legs too. I do believe that his situation is still better than many people, however, he has lost everything emotionally (silimlar to what Emma said above).
